Vinification

Hand harvested grapes from Grand Cru vineyards are vinified in stainless steel with aging on the lees in the deep cellars with manual riddling over nearly a decade.

Notes from critics

Pol Roger's Winston Churchill Cuvée is one of our top 2 or 3 favorite champagnes at any price. Nearly a decade aging on it's lees imparts brilliant flavors and a texture that really sets it apart. This is one to break out when you really want to impress.

99

There is a wonderful biscuity aroma to this Pinot Noir-dominated Champagne. Named after the British war-time prime minister and an avid consumer of Champagne, the wine is mature, full of ripe yeasty flavors and concentration. The wine, from a great vintage, is at a perfect stage and ready to be drunk. But the wine will also age for many years

97

Medium golden yellow, green reflections, persistent, fine mousse. Delicately spicy, ripe yellow tropical fruit such as mango and honeydew melon, as well as dried apricots and baked goods, with smoky, ethereal nuances of spice and menthol in the background. Multifaceted bouquet. Complex, juicy fruit, nuances of papaya and pear, a rich texture, hints of nougat, a fine acidity underpinning the palate, showing very good length, already approachable and very inviting, multifaceted without being opulent, and sure aging potential.
