Occasional Wine is an online boutique wine shop, veteran owned and operated, dedicated to offering the world's best wines. Our selection is curated to satisfy every palate and perfectly complement any occasion.

Occasional Wine is the culmination of a lifelong passion for wine shared by its founder, Nate Walz. His journey began over three decades ago as a bartender in an Italian restaurant, where he was inspired by the Sommelier's expertise in pairing the comprehensive wine list with the menu. This early fascination grew into a serious hobby: collecting wines, taking classes that led to multiple certifications, and visiting wine regions across the globe during vacations. After moving his family to California over ten years ago, he further explored the state's diverse vineyards.

This deep-seated love eventually transformed into this venture—a heartfelt labor of love dedicated to sharing the joy of wine with as many people as possible.
