A true, captivating expression of Brouilly Gamay
Hand harvested, fermented 75% whole cluster, semi-carbonic maceration, MLF, then aged 7 months - 50% in 7-year old French oak barrels and 50% in stainless steel
We really got into some wines from Beaujolais in a recent trip to France. They really understand the importance of being able to enjoy a red wine on a warm summer day. We do not carry any of the Nouveau Beaujolais offerings as they're all harvest-to-bottle drink now wines (Harvest in September, wine released in November). However, here are several Crus in the Beaujolais region and we've found a couple we really like from Brouilly to date. This is one of them. Shimmering ruby color. The nose is highly expressive, featuring pure aromas of vibrant red cherry, fresh raspberry, and crushed cranberry, with notes of violet and rose petal. The palate is light-bodied, fresh and juicy, with barely-there tannins. Bright acidity leads to a clean, persistent finish. Delish!
Attractive nose of sour cherries, dried flowers, cardamom and licorice. It’s wild and crunchy, with a medium body and a refreshing, crisp and tasty finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification.
