A pure, concrete-aged Gualtallary Malbec expressing fresh wild berries, herbal savoriness, and stony tension.
Hand-harvested grapes are 100% destemmed, then fermented and aged 12 months in concrete vats
Born way up in the high-altitude skies of Gualtallary—over 4,000 feet up!—the 2022 Per Se 'Inseparable' Malbec brings pure mountain energy straight to your glass. Ditching the oak barrels entirely, it's fermented and aged in raw concrete tanks to let the high-elevation terroir shine. Expect a lively, mouthwatering burst of tart mountain berries, wild herbs, and a cool, powdery limestone finish that's pure electric fun.
Intense ruby, purple reflections, subtle ochre rim. On the nose, delicate herbal savouriness, fresh black fruits of the forest, a hint of candied orange zest, tobacco nuances. Complex and textured, juicy, red berries, subtle sweetness, good freshness and minerality with a lemony touch on the salty finish. Already approachable and easy to drink.
The 2022 Inseparable offers a slightly darker-fruited, more structured profile than the comparatively lithe and lifted 2021 I tasted next to it and will likely benefit from a bit of extra bottle aging to reveal its full potential. It opens with a subtle, herbal and black-fruited nose that gradually gains amplitude in the glass, introducing a svelte, elegantly concentrated palate retaining the finesse that defines the Per Se Range. It closes with a delineated, fine-grained and pleasantly drying finish. As is typical, it was destemmed and vinified entirely in concrete before maturing for 12 months.
