The 2022 Hundred Suns Bednarik Vineyard Pinot Noir: vibrant red berry aromas, delicate floral notes, and a lingering finish. A sophisticated Pinot Noir experience.
Organically farmed
What a delicious offering from the Willamette Valley. The nose is a beautiful bouquet of different flowers, red fruits, and baking spices. There is also a bit of smoke that compliments the wine here. The mouthfeel delivers a bit more body than expected with loads of ripe red fruits, with layers of spice that take you through a great finish. Delicious!
Always made from the last fruit picked by the estate, the jeweled red colored 2022 Pinot Noir Bednarik Vineyard is lifted with a beautiful floral and expressive perfume with a Burgundian aesthetic. Its notes of wildflowers, raspberries, crushed stones, and pretty orange peel are followed by a medium-bodied, linear red with ultra-fine, polished tannins, and a delicate, very nuanced note of sanguine iron earth on the palate that is well-woven into the fabric. It is going to flesh out with time, but this is just a gorgeous wine already.
The Bednarik Pinot Noir is from own-rooted vines planted in the late 80s in a secluded part of the Tualatin Hills appellation. Floral aromatics of violets, dried lavender and spice lean forward with a background of ripe cherry flesh and smoky citrus tones. The palate is fresh yet fleshy, with ripe berries, roughly chopped mint and muddled strawberries. The texture and structure imbue this wine with elegance. It finishes tart with Montmorency cherries and just a kiss of fresh ground white pepper.
