An exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon from one of the world's top winemakers. A true collector's wine.
Aged 18 months in French oak barrels (65% new)
We carry as many wines made by Philippe Melka as we can. The man is trully winemaking genius. We love this single vineyard offering. It delivers intense dark fruit, graphite, and savory spice notes, supported by refined tannins and a deeply satisfying, long finish. We shouldn't have expected anything less.
The 2021 Cabernet Jumping Goat Vineyard Métisse is fabulous. Dense and quite savory, the 2021 possesses tremendous depth and vibrancy. There is quite a bit more in the way of minerality and savory elements than is often the case. Blackberry jam, graphite, chocolate, spice, new leather and chocolate saturate the palate. This tannic, brooding beauty needs time.
The 2021 Metisse Jumping Goat Vineyard checks in 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot. Another classic 2021 from this talented winemaker, it offers gorgeous darker red and black currant fruits, lots of graphite, crushed stone, and hints of espresso, medium to full body, ripe tannins, and a great finish.
