A legendary Campanian red, a true icon of Southern Italy
Aged 12-14 months in French oak barriques
The 2020 Montevetrano offers an intense, captivating bouquet of dark plum, wild berries, and sweet tobacco, underscored by an intriguing mineral lift. On the palate, it is full-bodied and beautifully structured, showcasing rich black fruit and savory spice, all framed by elegant, velvety tannins and a profound, lingering finish. A world-class blend that is both cellar-worthy and a pure pleasure to drink now.
I love the nose and it makes me think of Campania with its crushed stone, pumice, blackberry, and cracked pepper. Some tar. The palate is full-bodied with polished and fine tannins that are chewy and give structure to this young wine. It lasts a very long time on the palate. Smokey and ashy at the end. Drink after 2025.
An elegant red, with a ripe, appealing dark core of blackberry compote, black plum reduction, licorice, tea leaf and dried mint flavors. Shows a frame of plush tannins and sleek acidity that's supple and well-meshed, while the finish reveals persistent hints of mineral, tobacco and ground coffee. Lovely. Cabernet Sauvignon, Aglianico and Merlot.
