A balanced Margaux wine with solid fruit, softer tannins, and savory notes, offered at a great price.
The biggest difference between the California cabs and those of the Left Bank of Bordeaux is the concentration of fruits in the former versus the austere character of the latter. This Left Bank offering from Margaux sits pretty much in the middle giving you solid fruit, softer tannins with balanced acidity, and a good mix of savory. Oh, and it comes at a great price!
Young but already elegant and complex, this wine is destined for long-term aging. Ripe blackberry fruits and serious tannins will take time to mature. Drink from 2025 when this wine will be in balance.
Bright dark purple colour. Layered nose with fragrant floral violette notes, ripe red fruit, cassis and tobacco. Very nice texture with plenty of powdery tannins, savoury dark fruit, sage, tobacco, mild oak and a long nuanced finish, elegant and stylish.
