Experience Margaux's elegance. Dark fruit, floral notes, and spice aromas lead to a refined, balanced palate and a lingering finish.
Aged 17 months in French oak (50% new)
We tried this wine in a recent visit to the Bordeaux wine region and just had to add it to our inventory along with its 1st growth neighbor, Château Margaux. This offering a more reasonably priced representation of the quality of wine you should expect from the Margaux appellation. There is so much going on here from the fruit to the spice and the tannin. It's predictably austere, and even moreso right out of the bottle. This wine needs to lie down for a few more years. If you must, decant for a bit and drink with a well-paired dish. This is the epitomy of power and elegance you should expect from a top tier Left Bank Bordeaux.
Dark spice aromas are here, along with rich tannins and structure, just hinting at the wood aging. The wine, from the south of the appellation, has a rich effect, while also having the Margaux elegance. It is beautifully finished.
The 2021 Giscours is not quite as showy as some recent vintages, but all the ingredients are there. Aromatic, deep and layered, with tremendous balance, the 2021 has so much to offer. Rose petal, mint, spice, orange peel and dried herbs are some of the notes that build. The 2021 is a wine of exquisite precision—bright and driving, with notable tension. It is seriously impressive at this stage.
