Crafted for balance and elegance, this Sauvignon Blanc features vibrant citrus and stone fruit notes, complemented by a signature gunflint minerality.
Aged 7 months on the lees
Pouilly-Fumé is a close neighbor of the more famous Sancerre region of the Loire Valley and this offering is a solid representative of good wines from that region. Unlike most Sancerre Sauvignon Blancs that deliver that deep minerality, this one has a sweet richness to it
This Pouilly-Fumé challenges the notion that all the Loire Sauvignon Blanc action is in Sancerre. Gold in color, this wine opens with ripe golden apple, fall Bosc pear, brioche, quince and candied lemon peel. The wine is vibrant with some creaminess emerging on the attack followed by subtle baking spice and dried white blossom.
A slight honeyed note to the candied lemon peel and yellow plum flavors imparts a richness to this white, which is a lush style for sure, with chamomile and straw notes chiming in. A tug of bitter tannins brings form and balance to the long finish, graced by a salted almond note. Drink now through 2030.
