A delicious White Burgundy from Meursault with citrus fruit, evident oak, caramel, biscotti, and a hint of butter, best enjoyed after a couple more years in the bottle.
Aged for 16-18 months in French oak barrels (30% new)
Oh Meursault, how we love the White Burgundies of Meursault. What a fabulous representation here. This probably could use another couple of years in the bottle, but there is a lot going on here now. The citrus fruit here is just delicious, and the oak is evident in the caramel and biscotti notes as well as that slight touch of butter. Fantastic!
Mid lemon yellow. Power is immediately evident on the nose. Ripe orchard fruit with plenty of flesh on the palate. The oak shows a little more, both vanilla and biscuit, at the moment. So less together, lactic and buttery, but I would tip this to pull its back into balance. Drink from 2029-2038.
