A rich and complex wine featuring baked apple, ripe stone fruit, caramel, and minerality.
The grapes were farmed by the famed Martinelli Family, on a vineyard that used to be an apple orchard. “La Pommeraie” translates to apple orchard, an homage to the family and the land’s history.
Baked apple and ripe stone fruit blend well here with touches of caramel and minerality to bring richness and complexity to each sip. We like both the Pinot and the Chardonnay from this vineyard, and wines more generally from this producer. Another winner!
This is a tight, layered and balanced white wine. It is fleshy yet elegant in its ripe stone-fruit core, with lasting accents of mineral, wet stone and baking spice that linger on the finish.
Plenty of cooked-apple, vanilla-bean and flaky pie-crust aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, intense and deep with lots of fruit and richness. Butterscotch and salted-caramel complexity at the end. A bigger, richer style. Opulent and fun!
