A world-class Greco di Tufo, perfect for aging and for sophisticated pairings.
Aged 12 months in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak, followed by 18 months aging in bottle before release
Greco di Tufo is the most prominent white wine varietal of Italy's Campania region and this wine represents the first offering of it in our portfolio. As with every other "first" here at Occasional Wine, we want a wine that provides an outstanding example or expression of that varietal. This one really hits that mark. This extraordinary white wine offers an intense profile of ripe yellow fruit, honey, and profound saline minerality. Structured, complex, and incredibly persistent. World class!
The nose is a teenager's exhilaration on a summer night out, as the innocent aromas of vanilla, lemon and toasted nuts are left behind in favor of cigarette smoke, leather jackets and hot pavement. On the palate, however, childhood refuses to be left behind entirely, as afternoon snacks of apples and almonds lead into a finish that's deep and toasty, like the feeling of falling asleep in the car and knowing your parents will carry you in. At first blush, could pass for Burgundy.
A complex and savory wine with aromas of ferns, seaweed, peat, Mirabelle plums and a touch of citrus. Nervy on the palate with a light to medium body, it shows zesty acidity, supple fruit flavors and a smoky citrus finish. Juicy. Sustainable.
