An exceptional wine known for its complexity, elegance, and pure expression of the Sonoma Coast terroir.
Organically and biodynamically farmed grapes are fermented 80% whole cluster, and aged in neutral French oak
Many of the Pinot Noir offerings from Sonoma Coast are too light and lack any real depth. Not this one. This is a beautiful Pinot Noir. An homage to the legendary Robert Mondavi, the grandfather of the 2 winemakers. The ripe red fruits, floral accents, herbaceousness, and earthy undertones deliver a more Burgundian-style Pinot than one from the Sonoma Coast. You can taste the love that went into making this near perfect offering.
An amazingly complex, dynamic wine that demands your attention from the first sniff to the lingering finish. Aromas of redwood forest, rosemary, purple flowers and black cherries, then black tea, pomegranate, dark cherry, dried raspberry and wild mushroom flavors. Fine-grained moderate tannins and crunchy acidity give it such a firm backbone.
The ruby-hued 2023 Royal St. Robert is a selection from their coastal vineyards and is named to honor their grandfather. It opens to notes of wild raspberries, brushy windswept herbs, rose petals, dark stones, and elegant spices. Medium-bodied, it has a good deal of depth on the palate. Drink over the coming 15 years. It has 100% whole clusters in this vintage.
