A rich Chardonnay featuring ripe pears, apples, baking spices, and nuts, culminating in a strong finish.
Aged 11 months in low toast 3-year air-dried French oak (20% new), followed by 5 months in stainless steel barrels, before being bottled unfined and unfiltered
This is a rich Chardonnay full of ripe pears and apples, baking spices, and nuts that all blend nicely through to a strong finish.
A fascinating note of grated ginger highlights gorgeous pear, peach and toasted almond flavors in this complex, nicely balanced and mouth filling wine grown near the Pacific Ocean and Bodega Bay. Oak spices are well integrated with good acidity and fresh fruit for an expression that's both generous and refreshing in this tiny-production bottling.
The cooked apple and lemon rind come through on the nose with some butter cookie. It’s full-bodied and layered with an oily texture and a long, flavorful finish. Rather oily and dense at the end and slightly simple. But attractive.
