This old vine Sangiovese was made with love. That and some serious wine making skills. What a fabulous specimen! A good blend of driied to unripe red and purple fruits, great body, round tannins, balanced acidity, and a great finish. Delicious!
Brightening, intense garnet red colour. Very open and approachable nose, old-style in the best sense, of rhubarb, pomegranate, sour cherries and cherry stones. Relaxed and supple on the attack, it opens with grippy, fine-grained tannins. Salty and very ripe fruit on the long finish.
A sweet nose reveals delicate hints of cherries, red plums, white almonds and figs. In the background there is the presence of melted butter to give complexity. Medium body, round and velvety tannins and a horizontal and markedly bright finish.
