An Austrian masterpiece with great aging potential.
Aged 20 months in 500L oak barrels
This is first Blaufränkisch in our portfolio and there's a reason. It's certainly not a very well known grape in the US, and that's a shame because it's delicious, particularly if you're pairing with traditional German or Austrian fare. The one really captivates with concentrated aromas of dark berries, subtle spice, and a hint of minerality. On the palate, it shows an impressive structure, fine-grained tannins, and a long, complex finish. A fantastic example of just how good this varietal can be.
Dark ruby garnet, purple reflections, delicate edge brightening. Ripe black berry fruit, nuances of blackberries and cherries, a hint of herbal savouriness and orange zest, background of fine nougat. Juicy, elegant, fine fruity sweetness, silky tannins, mineral and long-lasting, certain ageing potential, already easy to drink.
Youthful color, intense, complex nose, cranberry, lingonberry, sloe berries, cedar notes, juniper, full-bodied, dense and elegant on the palate, fine-grained tannins, long-lasting finish, with cornel cherry in the aftertaste.
