A classic and iconic Italian wine with power, complexity, and elegance.
Grapes are dried for approximately 3-4 months before fermentation, then aged 3 years in Slavonian oak barrels ranging in size (6-20hl), followed by 4 months in cherry wood casks, and 5 additional months in bottle before release.
Great representation of an Amarone della Valpolicella Classico. Dark ripe fruits, chocolate, coffee, big and lush mouthfeel, fine tannins, and a good bit of yum.
Perfectly ripe aromas of black plums and black cherries, both brooding and elegant, rush out of the glass. Supported by notes of Dutch cocoa, espresso, and a dried bouquet of herbs and flowers. The lush palate is full of dark fruit flavors with fine and firm tannins and a pop of acidity.
A minimally invasive style, replete with a waft of cherry wood cask serving as an intentionally oxidative confluence with more traditional Slavonian oak. More clay in the soils here. Bitter and pithy and wild and energetic, splaying maraschino cherry, almond husk, fennel and walnut husk long and broad.
