An opulent, mountain-grown Cabernet that balances power with polish.
Aged 12 months in French oak barrels (25% new)
Anakota makes outstanding Cabernets that are softer and more enjoyable young than their Napa counterparts, but these are no less age worthy. This baseline Cabernet would be the best of other winemakers' portfolios. It's defined by intense blackberry and dark chocolate flavors, it features the distinct stony minerality of its volcanic soil and a plush, velvety finish. Amazing!
So pure, fruity and appealing due to the ripe, welcoming flavors and fine-grained texture that's soothing on the palate. Black cherries, blackberries, dried blueberries and dark chocolate. Medium- to full-bodied, rich in velvety tannins, leading to a lingering finish.
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley was blended with 9% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot and matured for 12 months in 25% new French oak. It bursts from the glass with pure aromas of cassis, violet, pencil shavings, garrigue and well-integrated new-oak spice. The full-bodied palate features concentrated, enveloping flavors. It’s framed by abundant, grainy tannins and juicy acidity and has a long, floral finish. It will benefit from some time in a decanter.
