Textural, profound, and built for the cellar, this is a world-class, Rhône-inspired masterpiece.
Organically farmed grapes are hand-harvested and hand-sorted, then fermented 15% whole cluster, followed by 18 months of aging in French oak, both new and neutral
This is an amazing expression of Syrah from the Walla Walla Valley, offering an intense, captivating tapestry of dark plum, savory black olive, smoked meat, and violet, underscored by a distinct mineral tension. Absolutely fantastic!
This 100% varietal wine comes from the In The Rocks Vineyard. Always a barrel selection the nose is unabashedly stony, screaming terroir. Once on the mouth this comes off incredible elegant, yet being very broad shoulders. Fleshy and fresh with a fantastic underlying tension, this is dark and decadent Syrah that shows a literal cornucopia of flavors and aromatics. Asian spices, black olive tapenade and suggestions of black licorice parade with salted meats, roasted figs, menthol and wet stone. This is right up there with the finest Stonessence bottling that I have ever tasted.
Sourced from the estate's In the Rocks vineyard, this penetrating Syrah displays the haunting perfume of the Rocks District (which lies in Oregon), while the wine itself is made in Washington state. Undulating blackberry and blueberry flavours are tinged with blood, iodine and ash. Powerful yet focused, freshly balanced with a finish that lingers on the bitter edges of quinine and olive pit. Made with 15% whole clusters vinified in stainless steel and matured for 18 months in both new puncheons and neutral oak.
