A standout Napa Cabernet with bold dark fruit, spice, and chocolate notes, offering a luxurious mouthfeel and a long, satisfying finish, promising even greater complexity with age.
Aged 22 months in French oak (50% new)
We tasted this wine at the Wine Spectator Grand Tour 2024 tasting event and it was one of the 4 or 5 real standouts. The grapes come from one of the greatest Cabernet vineyards in Napa, if not the world. It's big and bold and really delivers the goods. Ripe dark fruits, spice, chocolate, great tannin, luxurious mouthfeel, and long finish that just leaves you wanting yet another sip. Fantastic! Oh, and it will likely be that much better in a decade.
Concentrated, contained and very young, this powerful, full-bodied wine tastes jam-packed with dark berries and dark chocolate while firm, fine-grained tannins give it a big mouthfeel. Time will improve the feel of this multifaceted wine and allow its flavors to further complexify. Best 2028–2040.
