A true collector's gem, this age-worthy Napa Valley Cabernet is an iconic and powerful wine.
The 3 clones used in the blend (4, 7, and 337) are fermented separately. Only the highest quality free-run juice is used in the blend. MLF is in barrel where the wine is aged 20 months in French oak.
There's quite a bit going on with this fantastic Meteor Vineyard Cabernet. An earthy wine highlighted by luscious dark fruits, coffee, tobacco, and an underlying herbaciousness and minerality that just adds another level of character to this beauty. This one is tasting amazing right now, but should age continue to evolve for another decade or more.
The opaque blue/purple 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Perseid, from vineyard in the southeast sector of Napa Valley, really is strutting its stuff. It's backward, shows loads of minerality and earth, but the tannic structure is strong, the wine inky purple with plenty of blackberry and cassis. The mouth layers are incredible and the finish just goes on and on. This is a remarkable effort that should age effortlessly for 25-30 years. In fact it probably won't be even hitting its plateau for another 5-6 years.
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Perseid is deep and beautifully resonant. Black cherry, mocha, espresso, licorice, and grilled herbs fill out the wine's broad, ample frame. Despite its obvious size and volume, the 2013 posesses impeccable balance especially in its tannins. Sweet tobacco, licorice and dried herbs add lovely aromatic complexity throughout.
