Occasional Wine Note: New Zealand is known for producing both fantastic Sauvignon Blanc and fantastic Pinot Noir. We've come to find they can put out a pretty good Cabernet as well. This one not only has a cool name, but is a pretty great representation of the quality of Pinot Noir you can find from the region. It is on the bigger side and has a bit more tannin that we expected. Great great on the nose and the palate.

    Critic Score: 95

This is not a timid wine. It's rich and round, wearing its brambly, medicinal, earthy, spicy and floral colors loud and proud. The silky mouthfeel is tugged into place by sappy tannins. There's intensity, balance and structure, and a real sense of place.

Spicy and smoky style nose, cherry fruit still fresh and succulent. Savoury, toasty character on palate, juicy fruit, silky tannins.
