Occasional Wine Note: There are the Beaujolais wines that known for being ready to drink right after bottling - Beaujolais Nouveau - and then there are the Beaujolais Cru wines. This one is the latter. More than a Cru, this wine was produced from a small, very specific plot of land (a lieu-dit) within Côte de Brouilly. This wine has a lot going on. Yep, lots of fruit as you'd expect from a Beaujolais, but fine tannin, spice, and great mouthfeel. Just delicious!

    Critic Score: 92

This single-vineyard wine with ripe tannins and black fruits is promising and just setting out. The dry core of tannins offers spiciness, richness and a good structure that will showcase the generous berry fruits. Drink from 2022.

    Critic Score: 92

Those who doubt Cru Beaujolais can be as impressive as Burgundy or Rhône wines need to taste this deep and well-structured Côte de Brouilly. Almost blackcurrant-liqueur character on the nose, but without any hint of overripeness, is married to generous, fine tannin. Excellent harmony and with a bit more length, this would rate even higher.
